Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Kaizen Operations ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit kaizenoperations.ca (the "Site"). We aim to keep this simple: we explain what we collect, when we collect it, and how you can turn it off.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you submit our contact form, we collect the details you provide: your first name, email address, business name, phone number, and any message you include. Submitted alongside those details is basic marketing attribution: the page you arrived on, the site or search that referred you, and any campaign tags in the link you followed. This tells us which of our efforts brought you here.

Information collected automatically. Where analytics are active (see "Cookies and analytics" below), we use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager to collect usage data, including: the pages you view and how long you spend on them; approximate location derived from your IP address; device, browser and screen characteristics; how you arrived at the Site, including referring site and campaign tags; and your interactions with the Site, such as which buttons you click, how far you scroll, and whether you start or submit the contact form. We may also collect advertising and cross-device identifiers used to measure our marketing and, if we run advertising in future, to show you relevant ads. We do not send the contents of the contact form to Google.

Cookies and analytics

The Site uses Google Analytics 4, delivered through Google Tag Manager, to understand visitor behaviour. We use Google Consent Mode v2, and what happens by default depends on where you are.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or Quebec, analytics and advertising storage are disabled when you arrive and stay disabled unless you choose Manage cookies on the notice and then press Accept. Nothing is stored on your device and no analytics data is collected until you do.

Everywhere else, including the rest of Canada and the United States, we rely on your implied consent: analytics are active when you arrive. A notice tells you this on your first visit. Choosing Manage cookies on that notice, and then Decline, switches collection off; we stop collecting and stop storing immediately. Dismissing the notice with Got it is an acknowledgement only and does not change what we collect either way. This is permitted under PIPEDA for activities a reasonable person would consider appropriate, such as measuring how a business website performs.

Your choice is remembered in your browser. You can change it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which removes the saved choice and shows the notice again, or by using your browser's own cookie and tracking controls. You can also install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

How we use your information

We do not sell your personal information.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of third parties to operate the Site. They process data on our behalf and have their own privacy policies:

Data retention

We keep contact-form submissions only as long as needed to respond to your enquiry and for our reasonable business records. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' configured retention period.

International transfers

Our service providers (Google and Netlify) may process and store data on servers outside Canada, including in the United States. Where this happens, your information is subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.

Your rights

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to analytics at any time. If you are in Quebec, the EEA or the UK, you may also have rights to erasure, portability, and to object to or restrict processing, under Quebec's Law 25 or the GDPR as applicable. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

Children's privacy

The Site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
